Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much do these e-bikes weigh?
A: 16kg to 20kg depending on which models you pick. This is comparable to normal push bikes! The battery is an extra 3kg.
Q: What kinds of motors are fitted on your products?
A: We design advanced brushless front geared hub motors as well as rear direct drive ones.
Q: Do your products come in rear wheel fitted motor too?
A: Yes, they do. The front wheel design is the pragmatic, lightweight and cost effective option. Also, when combined with pedaling you get an all-wheel-drive experience which can feel to have better grip and weight distribution. The rear wheel drive on the other hand is made purely for power and speed. Since they can be de-restricted for much greater power for off-road use, they were designed to go on the rear for better traction.
Q: Is there rolling resistance from the motor as you pedal along?
A: No. The motor is designed to roll freely regardless whether it is operating or disengaged. There is no resistance at all. This capability allows you to pedal yourself even faster than the motor speed limit.
Q: What about noise?
A: The motor is almost silent, especially on the road, the noise is almost unnoticeable.
Q: What’s the power and speed of the motor?
A: Power is 250W. Speed is 15.5mph. Both are the maximum limit allowed by EU regulation. However, you can always pedal yourself faster than the 15.5mph. Our rear wheel versions can be de-restricted to go beyond these limits (for off-road use).
Q: How easy is it to get replacement batteries?
A: We supply spare parts in case you need any replacements. Please contact us.
Q: How long will the battery last between charges?
A: This is always tricky to quantify as it depends on various factors. But given average conditions, our 36V 11Ah option for example would give around 30-45miles depending on terrain, weight of the cyclist, frequent use of the PAS, number of stops/starts, tire air pressure etc. The different battery spec in our range would give different milage.
Q: Can I fit a pannier rack to the bike?
A: Sure. The back wheel/frame is like any other standard bike. So pannier racks would fit fine.
Q: Are the electrical parts water resistant?
A: Yes, absolutely. Obviously, we wouldn’t recommend throwing the bike in a swimming pool for example, but it will cope well with natural wet conditions.
Q: Is the power controlled through the gears?
A: The gears are totally separate from the power supply to avoid resistance as you pedal along. You have a dashboard to control how much power should go into the motor.
Q: Is warranty included?
A: 1 year warranty is included.
